Programme
(last updated 2026-07-16)
Preliminary Programme Information
The conference programme is currently being finalised and will be updated continuously over the coming weeks. Some programme elements and speakers have not yet been confirmed. This is partly due to the fact that planning could only begin after the official funding decision had been made.
The overall structure and thematic focus of the conference are already in place. However, we deliberately want to allow sufficient time for participants and speakers to contribute their own perspectives, experiences and topics to the programme.
Please check this webpage regularly. Updates and additional information, including possible last-minute changes, will be published here.
Before the Conference (optional)
The main program will take place from November 2nd to 6th 2026. Beyond these dates, we will not have an official program, but we will suggest informal opportunities based on individual travel schedules. While we cannot give exact details yet, we will point out options (like local sights or activities) depending on interest.
On November 1st, there is the option to attend a Catholic service by the African community (in English) at Christkönig Church in Bielefeld at 1:00 PM. Besides that, participants could use the time for informal meetups and reunions, a city tour, or a visit to the local animal park. These are suggestions rather than a set program, depending on interest.

The Forum explores how church and diaconal organisations can cultivate meaningful relationships, participation and community in a digitally shaped world, while critically reflecting on what may be lost, transformed or newly enabled through digital forms of encounter. The day also includes the ceremonial presentation of degrees and offers many opportunities for networking and connecting with other alumni and colleagues.
